The Don Bosco High School, Nikamul-Tezpur, was established on 18th January 1971 on an auspicious day, marked by a significant commitment to education. Responding to a pressing need in the community for an English Medium School, local parents approached the Rt. Rev. Emeritus Joseph Mittathany, the Bishop of Tezpur. His vision led to the establishment of Don Bosco School in the serene surroundings of Bishop’s House near Chitralekha Udayan (Cole Park). Originally catering to boys from Class V onwards, our school was founded to provide quality education in response to community demand.

In the early years, the Sacred Heart Sisters played a pivotal role in the school’s growth, brought in from Changanacherry, Kerala. The first headmaster, George Vettikal, alongside Sister Christopher SH and the late Sister Fabiola, laid down the foundations of what would become a nurturing and educational haven for countless students. By 1990, Don Bosco High School found its new home at the current location, receiving official recognition from the State Board of Assam (SEBA) and solidifying its presence in the local education landscape.
