National Cadet Corps (NCC)

NCC today forms the backbone of a country. It is on their shoulders that the responsibility for change, progress, and innovation lies. To achieve these goals, they need direction, involvement, and responsibility. In this context, Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Tezpur, Assam, has placed utmost importance on these ideals from the very beginning.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is initiative of the Indian Army that engages youth to foster national patriotism. Its motto is “Unity and Discipline.” Under this motto, the NCC trains the youth wing of the armed forces, which is open to all school and college students on a voluntary basis. The NCC is a tri-service organization comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force, dedicated to grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.

Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Tezpur, has more than 100 cadets. NCC’s popularity among students has been growing yearly, supported by both guardians and school authorities. Like other district administrations, the Sonitpur district administration organizes a grand parade competition on Republic Day and Independence Day, in which various schools and colleges participate. On multiple occasions, our students have secured positions in the parade, bringing glory to the school.
